The Pai Gow poker game is also known as Double-hand poker game. It is a version of an American game of Pai gow, which is played with the help of playing cards by means of hand rankings of poker, while the Pai Gow is played by means of Chinese dominoes. Fred Wolf and Sam Torosian cordially created the games of Super Pan-9 and Pai Gow poker.

A standard deck containing 52 playing cards are used to play the game along with a single joker. The game is played with 6 players and a dealer on the poker table.

Every player has to play in opposition to the banker, who might be the dealer of the casino or any of the players playing at the gambling table.

The Casino Game's objective:

In Pai Gow poker, a player plays the game with an objective of creating two hands of poker out of the 7 cards he is having in the hand: a hand of 5 poker cards as well as a hand of 2 poker cards. The ranking of the hand of 5 poker cards must be higher than a hand of 2 poker cards. The Game Deal:

The dealer shuffles the cards, and then they are to be placed on the gambling table in the 7 piles of facing down 7 cards. There will be 4 cards which will be remaining unused in spite of the number of players playing the game.

The numbers from 1 – 7 will be assigned for the players with regards to the position of betting. The numbers will be assigned as per the sitting position of the player that starts with the player that acts as a banker in such hand, and counted in the clockwise direction of the players sitting around the table. A number is selected randomly from the numbers 1 – 7, either manually with the help of the dice or electronically.

Then the deal starts with the positions of the player corresponding to their seats and the game proceeds in the counter-clockwise direction. One of the most common way to use the dice for determining the dealer the number at the beginning by rolling 3 dices of 6 sides, and then counting the  spots of betting from the initial position till the reaching of the number on the dice.

If a player has not been seated on a particular spot, still the hand will be assigned, but then it will be put down on the pile discarded with unused four playing cards.

Casino Game's Ranking hand:

High cards and a single pair involve the only hands of two cards.

Determination of a win:

If the corresponding hands of the banker are beaten by the now-separated hands of every player, then the player becomes the winner of that bet. If only a single hand of a player beats the hand of the banker then he moves to push. But if both of the hands of a player loses against the hands of the banker then he tend to lose the game.

At every hand, if there becomes a situation of tie, the banker becomes the winner. For an instance, if a hand of 5 cards of a player loses to the hand of the banker and his hand of 2 cards ties towards the banker’s hand, then the player loses the game, giving a small advantage to the banker. If the player’s hand fouls, it means that his high hand is outranked by his low hand, or that there possesses a wrong number of cards in all hands, this becomes a penalizing situation: either the hands are re-arranged as per the rules of the house or they will get forfeited.

History Pai Gow Poker Game:

Before inventing the game of Pai Gow poker, in the beginning of 1980s, Fred Wolf was working in a casino called the Commerce Casino as a manager. Fred Wolf decided to give the third floor space of the casino Bell Club on rent in Bell, California, for introducing his new game, Super Pan-9.

New structures of gaming were needed by Fred Wolf for the purpose of overcoming the huge competition of the cards casino of the Los Angeles area such as Commerce Casino and Bicycle Club.

Super Pan-9 and Pai Gow Poker games immediately became the favorites of poker lovers, and spread out quickly across the entire market of California gaming and then popular worldwide.

Afterwards, the US patents on several new devices of gaming including ‘Three-special-dice’, and games like ‘Fast-action holdem’, ‘Pai Gow jokers’, ‘Lucky Pan-9’ and ‘Sweepstakes Blackjack’ were invented and obtained by Fred Wolf.
